AI Use Cases

About

Organised by what you're trying to do.

257 tools across 45 use cases. Type a task, get a three-tool shortlist with one reason for and one against each.

How the ranking works

Every tool is scored nightly from public signals only: GitHub stars and star velocity, Hacker News mentions, our own release-feed mentions, and recent activity. The formula is published and the raw numbers are on every tool page. There is no paid placement and no sponsored rank. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.

Where the "new" feed comes from

A recorder polls Product Hunt, Hacker News, GitHub, five subreddits and the major vendor blogs every hour and keeps every item it has not seen before. It is a record, not an endorsement.

How tools get added

The seed catalog was written by hand. New tools are added when they show up in the release feed with traction. We do not take submissions; the feed is the submission.

Money

Two things pay for this site, and both are kept away from the ranking. A tool maker can sponsor one use-case page: a box labeled "Sponsored" above the ranked list for 7 days, paid in USDC, showing only a tool that is already in the catalog. It changes nothing about scores, ranks or inclusion. Some outbound links may also become affiliate links; those never affect rank or inclusion either.
